Lesson Agenda:
1. Native Element
2. Announcements
3. Study Guides
4. Mineral ID Charts Distributed
5. Lab Q & A
How we will learn it:
• Explicit Instruction: Share definition of Native Element after students derive personal definition > Distribute mineral ID charts
• Modeled Instruction: Complete half of question one for students on the study guide (four parts)
• Guided Practice: Lead students through Native Element examples and non-examples, alternate definitions > Lead students through second half of question one on the study guide (four parts)
• Independent Practice: Students complete study guides independently or in small groups.
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Test tomorrow
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): Review online resources to prepare for test
Materials/Resources: Study Guides
