Lesson Agenda:
1. Fluorescence
2. Lab Q & A
3. Separate into groups
4. Continue Mineral ID lab
How we will learn it:
Explicit Instruction: Respond to group questions: concepts & procedures.
Guided Practice: Lead students through Fluorescence examples and non-examples
Independent Practice: Students complete Modified Frayer > Students complete Mineral ID Lab in small groups.
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Labs collected and graded, observation
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): Resources, stewardship, chem prep
Materials/Resources: rock samples, mineral samples, streak plate, nail, penny, forceps, magnifying glass
