| Restroom Process |
|
Our restroom process is very straightforward and if used responsibly provides for access with a minimum of distraction to learning and time out of class. Students may use the restroom at any time outside of active instruction, lab exercises and the first and last ten minutes of the class period. Only one student is allowed out at a time and restroom passes are limited to seven minutes. Students are not to use a restroom pass for any other purpose: see another teacher, go to the media center, see their counselor, administrator, etc. There is a rubber stamp on the teachers desks with the teachers signature. Students needing to use the restroom must come to the front of the room, fill out a pass with their name, destination, and time out of class. They then use the rubber stamp to affix the appropriate signature. Before leaving the classroom students must sign out on the sign in/oout sheet on the teachers desk. They must include the same information that's on the pass. When returning to class they must sign back in on the same sheet with the time that they've returned to class. This process may not be perfect, and will be ammended for abusers, but it allows for student control of the process and accountability for the instructor. |
