Home Parents Parents FAQ
Parents FAQ

The transition from middle to high school can be difficult and many times stressful for students and parents. Keeping the lines of communication open between home and school is essential during this time to ease the transition and give your child the greatest opportunity for success.

How often do you give homework?

-> We assign homework for earth/space science once or twice a week. Students must complete the assignments at home and they will be reflected in our lesson plans.

How do I keep track of my child's grades?

-> The absolute best way is to talk to Ms. Dias about setting you up for parent connect. By doing so you will know your child's scores as soon as they are entered and can set it up to receive alerts by email when you child receives a 0 or is absent for class.

Will my child be assigned a text book for your subject, and are they allowed to bring it home?

-> Yes, beginning the first week of school all earth/space science students are assigned a text and encouraged to take it home to study for tests or to complete homework assignments.

What is the best way to contact you if I have a question about my child's progress?

-> Email is generally the best way to get in touch, you can do so by clicking here. Also, we are always happy to reply to your phone message if you would prefer to call the school. Almost always, we will attempt to get in touch within 24 hrs.

As a parent should I post my questions and comments on the community forum?

-> No, the forum is just for student support. We look forward to your questions and comments but please take the time to send us an email from the contact page or just leave a message with the school secretary.

How do I set up a conference with my child's teachers?

-> Just email Ms. Dias from the contact page with the title of "Conference Request" and be sure to put your child's name in the body of the message along with your phone number and she will be happy to schedule it. Alternatively, you are always more than welcome to call her directly with the request.

NEWS FLASH: I hope everyone is enjoying their well deserved break. Have a great holiday!

I bought a dog the other day...I named him Stay. It's fun to call him... "Come here, Stay! Come here, Stay!" He went insane. Now he just ignores me and keeps typing.
