Home Parents

Welcome to Our Parents Section

Congratulations on being a Spartan Parent and we are grateful for the opportunity to be working with your child! We know that there is no single greater determinant to a child's success in school than their parents involvement in the learning process and we look forward to doing all we can to help you help us in making a difference this year.

This developing section of our site is designed to keep parents informed, the information that you need to support your child, and opportunities to get involved at Lakwood High School.

Here's looking forward to a great year at LHS and our sincere appreciation to our Spartan Parents for their involvement and support! If you have any questions or comments please take a moment to email us and we'll do our best to get back in touch by the next school day.

Promoting Academic Success

The freshman year is a crucial transition for most students, they're faced with new challenges, new opportunities, new people and a fresh set of choices. Your involvement, especially during the freshman year, can go a long way in setting a standard to guide them through their high school years.

There's a Parent's FAQ section but one question that we get asked the most frequently seemed to stand out above the rest, "What can I do to, at home, help my child improve academically?". Collectively we have 45 years experience with parents and students so we appreciate the opportunity to share some of their solutions here.

Random Quote

I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.
