EARTH
SCIENCE - OCEANOGRAPHY
The study of
the worlds oceans is of particular concern to Floridians
as we're bordered on one side by the Gulf of Mexico
and on the other the Atlantic Ocean. These tremendous
bodies of water in addition to providing us with recreation,
sport, and relaxation also moderate our climate and
directly effect our local economy.
While developing
a global understanding of ocean systems we will emphasize
areas that most directly effect our local environment.
Throughout this section students will afforded numerous
opportunities for further study, enrichment and opportunities
to get involved in political processes that effect
the health of the worlds oceans. Class-room objectives
are directly linked to appropriate Sunshine State
Standards and will be tested on the F.C.A.T.
Please utilize
the images at the top of this page or the text menu
at the bottom of each page to navigate the oceanography
section. On each page you will find links to specific
class-room instructional materials, ideas for further
research and web sites related to that specific topic. |
