Essential Question/s: What are some real life examples of the interactions of the biogeochemical cycles?
Lesson Agenda:
1. FCAT Slam: Abiotic
2. Observations from 2L Terrariums (data table)
3. Preview outdoor classroom scavenger hunt
4. Students complete scavenger hunt
5. Wrap up
How we will learn it:
Explicit Instruction: Define Word Slam > Share data table > Wrap Up (overhead)
Modeled Instruction: From the dock, share one or two examples for the students scavenger hunt table.
Guided Practice: Lead students through FCAT Slam: Synonym, antonym, other forms > Circulate to assist with students individually completing scavenger hunt.
Independent Practice: Students record observations > Students complete FCAT Slam
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Wrap up feedback, Observations, data
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): Sustainability, Climate Change
