When:
Wed, Sep 22
Category:
Lesson Plan Archives

Description

Standards/Benchmarks:
SC.912.E.7.1: Analyze the movement of matter and energy through the different biogeochemical cycles, including water and carbon.
Essential Question/s: What are the other biogeochemical cycles and how is matter and energy transferred.
Lesson Agenda:
1. FCAT Slam: Abiotic
2. Observations from 2L Terrariums (data table)
3. Cornell Notes Biogeochemical Cylcles
4. Wrap Up
How we will learn it:
Explicit Instruction: Define Abiotic > Share data table > Wrap Up (overhead)
Modeled Instruction: Demonstrate Cornell Notes (Carbon only)
Guided Practice: Lead students through FCAT Slam: Synonym, antonym, other forms > Circulate to assist with Cornell Notes
Independent Practice: Students record observations > Students complete Cornell Notes
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Wrap up feedback, Observations
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): Sustainability, Climate Change
NEWS FLASH: I hope everyone is enjoying their well deserved break. Have a great holiday!
