Title:
Complete/Review Cornell Notes - Gravity
When:
Mon, Sep 13
Category:
Lesson Plan Archives

Description

Standards/Benchmarks:
SC.912.E.6.1: Describe and differentiate the layers of Earth and the interactions among them.
SC.912.P.12.4: Describe how the gravitational force between two objects depends on their masses and the distance between them.
Essential Question/s: How is the earth unique among planets, what are it's compositional layers and gravitational force?
Lesson Agenda:
1. FCAT Slam: Atmosphere
2. Students given time for independent practice completing Cornell Notes
3. Bring up Cornell Notes on the projector for review
4. Collect all work for the last week (Portal grades still missing)
5. Ticket out the door, two factors effecting gravitational attraction
How we will learn it:
Explicit Instruction: Share the definition of atmosphere > Review process of Cornell Notes > Movie Gravity
Modeled Instruction: Share other forms of the word for atmosphere > Assist as required with Cornell Notes
Guided Practice: Facilitate generation of synonym, antonym and other forms of FCAT Slam > Work collaboratively with students to complete Cornell Notes for Earth Basics & Earth's Interior
Independent Practice: Students work independently to complete Cornell Notes > Students work independently to complete FCAT Slam
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Collect and grade Cornell Notes > Collect and grade FCAT Slams
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): Ticket out the door: Two factors effecting the force of gravity
Associated File: cornell-notes-2.1[0].pdf
Materials/Resources: Textbook, overhead, paper, pencil, Cornell Notes, Move: Gravity
NEWS FLASH: I hope everyone is enjoying their well deserved break. Have a great holiday!
