• SC.912.N.2.2: Identify which questions can be answered through science and which questions are outside the boundaries of scientific investigation, such as questions addressed by other ways of knowing, such as art, philosophy, and religion.
• SC.912.N.3.5: Describe the function of models in science, and identify the wide range of models used in science.
Essential Question/s: Illustrate our understanding of the essential learnings related to the nature of science.
Lesson Agenda:
1. Review word wall
2. Review major concepts
3. Q & A Nature of science
4. Quiz: The Nature of Science
How we will learn it:
• Explicit Instruction: Review vocabulary and the major concepts presented in class that are represented on todays quiz.
• Modeled Instruction: Respond to student questions in review time.
• Independent Practice: Students will complete the quiz on the nature of science.
Formative Assessment (How we will know we learned it?): Summative: quiz results
Relevance/Closure (How will we use it?): If time allows, respond to student questions relating to specific test items.
